I live in an area where people are allowed to keep big pets. There are a lot of horse, llama and emu owners around here (We own emus actually) and there's one area where people are allowed to keep Tigers. One man owns a big area and keeps tigers, lions and leopards...which were saved from places, so it's like a rescue and recovery place. The other day one of his Tigers got loose and it had been out on the loose for 24 hours. When they finally found him, they surrounded the area with professionals (NOT cops) and they all had tranquilizer guns so they could safely capture the tiger and bring him to his home.
Today my mom took me shopping and afterwords we ate at a restaurant. An old couple was eating behind us and my mom heard them talking about the tiger, which is named Bobo. My mom smiled, leaned over and said "We live around the area where he is, wanna go catch him with us?" as a joke. The old woman stared at my mom and said "They killed the tiger..." and then she went on talking about how they shouldn't be allowed to be pets around here because they could kill people and are a huge threat. I was getting so pissed at her....she should go back to New York if she thinks they shouldn't be rescued and kept in an area like this. So we later found out that it was a cop that shot Bobo. For some odd, strange, DUMB ASS REASON the friggin cops were out there with regular guns (scratch that, ASSAULT RIFLES) instead of tranquilizer guns. They said the tiger..."charged" at one of the cops and he shot it to death (no proof, the tiger was laying by a tree). When we drove by the area on the way home, there were news trucks everywhere and to the left was a sign that said "F**k you pig who shot Bobo!"
Rest in peace Bobo
I sent this picture to the person who raised Bobo and told them that he will always be in my heart.
Edit: I know there's a lot of controversy over Bobo and whether shooting him was the right thing to do or not...I'm probably making things worse by saying this. I just saw on the news that they think he was sitting on/under a tree and the cop that shot him used a military assault rifle. He said the cat looked at him, it's ears were curled back so he shot the tiger 5 times. So whether or not Bobo "leaped" or "attacked" this cop is uncertain. Ha and everytime I read a news article...Bobo gains 400 pounds. The first day he was loose he weighed 450 pounds, then 650 and one article even said 800. And for some reason I got mad when this guy on the news said "We are saddened by the outcome...but we are very glad that no humans were harmed." I just love animals a lot...
They're having a candlelight ceremony for Bobo tomorrow. I'll be there.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
