I was planning on making a journal after the first week in school because I was SO ANGRY but I waited another week and I've calmed down a lot. |D
This year I'm taking Drawing Fundamentals, Assembling Digital Media, Foundations of Story, Script Analysis, Chemistry, and Tennis. So far it's been the busiest, worst semester I've had.

DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS was a bad idea. Kristen and I have to take it for our Digital Media major though. There's no book required...which saved us money...but there were about $50 of drawing stuff we had to buy, incudling this 36" long drawing board that's heeaaavyyyyy. And we have to carry it to class on Monday and Wednesday. @@ And...and...class is 3 hours long....3 hours of standing...and each week we have an 8 hour homework assignment (literally 8 hours) that requires us to come into class on the weekend...bgnmkngn We spend 20 hours in that class every week.

Assembling Digital Media takes up my time because the projects require me to do a lot of editing in Final Cut Pro, which requires me to go into the Mac labs off campus, which takes a while to get to. |D But that class still seems fun. Every week we have an online quiz to study for and online homework that takes a while, but I've had worse.

Foundations of Story has toooons of reading, but it's not as bad as..

SCRIPT ANALYSIS. Instead of using percents for grades, he uses direct points. If you get one point off every homework assignment you have an 80 for the class (assuming you get every single point for each quiz and class participation) and there's no way you can ever get it higher than that. @@ Our first homework assignment was reading the screenplay for the Empire Strikes Back and two packets he passed out. The screenplay just killed me.

Chemistry...is chemistry..I read the chapter before each class so I don't fall behind since I have so much reading for my other classes.

Tennis is fun. C= I was considering dropping it at first but my mom said it was a great way to release stress from my other classes.

By now I've gotten used to spending so much time in the drawing room, carrying the heavy board around, and surviving a few 3 hour classes. If I had less reading to do, this semester would be perfect. But but but I'll get used to it in time and over the summer I actually wanted to read more (since I hate reading but it makes you smarterer C so my wish came true. xD

I hope everyone else is having a better school year than me though. =} We all learn to adapt anyway, right?



Suta-Raito!

Suta-Raito is an image resource website I started quite a few years ago. All the images on it were drawn by me and are free for anyone to use as long as they give credit to Suta-Raito. The majority of the images are Pokemon and Neopets pictures but there are plenty of others. ^^
Sorry for the lack of updates recently though, I've got to get the oekakis finished before working on S-R.

Sutaro Sketcher Oekaki!

The sketcher oekaki only has 3 simple rules and no tryouts required. Just join up and draw! 8D

Suta-Raito Oekaki!

Also known as SRON, this oekaki is for intermediate artists. There are two tryout pictures required before you can draw freely, but it's definitely worth your visit. The new sea layout has a few surprises of its own as well, along with new emo squid emoticons. ^^



Suta-Raito Advanced Oekaki!

The advanced oekaki is also called SROA and requires 3 tryouts. The layout will be revamped soon into an icy cave scene with all the extras that SRON has.

Pet-site Commissions are always open and cost $5 per pet in one pose. I don't draw items but you might be able to negotiate a map at a fair price; they take a while to make. Send me a note if you're interested~

Photoshop Gradient Shaded: $50
Flash Cell Shaded: $25
Detailed Oekaki: Varies, usually around $25-$40.
Oekaki Doodle: $10
Animated Icon: $5

Please note: All commissions go towards paying for my server to keep Suta-Raito and the Oekakis up and running. I pay $200 a month for my server and about $70 once a year for the domain names. It's quite expensive for a college student, that's why my commission costs have been raised. ^-^;

Petsite Commissions are always open!
A few restrictions for these, however.
I won't design new base pets or draw items/maps. This means I'll only redraw previous pets or make new colors for previous pets. Also, these are strictly for petsites. An individual person can't commission these for their personal characters.

Do you ever use real animal references for your pictures?
Neeeeveeeerrrr, and if I ever did I'd definitely post the ref. Learning from real anime pictures is an excellent way of improving, I was just never comfortable with it.

Will you do an art trade with me?
I wish I could, but at the moment I'm incredibly busy. Sometimes I'll ask a person to do a trade myself, but I don't accept requests right now~

When will Evomon be opening?
Oh I wish I knew. xD Hopefully by the end of 2007. Everyone's working really hard to get everything finished.

What is an oekaki?
An oekaki is an online drawing board that's free to join. Just be sure to follow any rules that have been made. ^-^
