My Baby Skunk

I wanted to introduce Skiddles to my gallery since he's the inspiration for the children book that Daniel and I are making.

I was also curious to see if any of my watchers were skunk owners in case I had any questions in the future. We've done toooons of research but it's always good to know someone else just in case. Our vet was even surprised about how much we knew.

Skiddles is 8 weeks old, very healthy and going through potty training. He's been de-scented but I'm still surprised at the extent that his fur smells because all my research says they shouldn't smell. I guess they didn't mention their usual odor is that of a ferret because of their natural oils!
I bought some all-natural ferret sprays, one of which goes in his water, so I'm hoping he'll start to smell better as he gets older. Either way, I've had a pet ferret in the past so I know I'll get used to it.

He's such a sweetie pie, doesn't bite, and falls asleep in our laps. Our kitten is black also and they're getting along pretty well.
